Jadon Sancho dropped from England squad
Manchester United star Jadon Sancho was the high-profile absentee as Gareth Southgate confirmed his World Cup squad for Qatar on Thursday.
The 22-year-old, who joined the Manchester club only last summer for a whopping £73million, has struggled for form since arriving in England, last making an appearance for the Three Lions in September last year.

And Southgate, who announced his squad with a little over a week to go until the tournament gets underway on November 20, has opted not to take the former Borussia Dortmund star to Qatar.
Sancho was not the only notable star to miss out on a place, however, with Serie A pair Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori also agonisingly left out.
Marc Guehi, Ivan Toney, James Ward-Prowse and Jarrod Bowen - all of whom had high hopes of making the squad - were also overlooked.
Roma striker Abraham has paid the price for poor form with his club, even receiving recent criticism from manager Jose Mourinho, with Newcastle's Callum Wilson in to act as deputy to England captain Harry Kane up front.
While Tottenham defender Eric Dier - who in September was called up to his first England squad since 2020 - was included in Southgate's selection, there was no space for his Spurs team-mate Ryan Sessegnon.
That's even despite the absence of an injured Ben Chilwell, with Luke Shaw's sole recongised left-back in the squad.
