The tennis star is among 20 top players who are expected to compete for the enviable crown at this season's competition slated for the Accra Lawn Tennis Club.

Bagerbaseh would seek an opportunity to exact revenge on Nicholas Kumadey who outclassed him 6-1, 6-2 to win the Accra Seniors Open Semi Professionals category.

This year's tournament promises to be very competitive as defending champion, Emmanuel Antwi, and the runner-up, Benjamin Palm, have all shown up and are ready to pick the ultimate prize.

Among some of the heavyweights competing for honours are Raphael Nii Ankrah, Lameck Bagerbaseh, Desmond Ayaba, Caleb Aryettey, Abubakar Yakubu Lea, Emmanuel Antwi, Benjamin Palm, Felix Hammond and Johnson Acquah.

Also expected to make a strong case for the crown is the winner of the Accra Seniors Open, Kumadey, as well as other experienced players such as Ronald Totimeh, Richmond Armaah, David Oringa, Samuel Nyamekye and Reginald Okantey.

Bernard Ashietey Armaah, who teamed up with Kumadey to win the Men's Doubles 30-40 years’ category at the Accra Seniors Open, is another player who must not be discounted as he could pull up a surprise. Pascal Ziyab and Charles Asomani are two other strong contenders that must be watched.

According to the organiser of the game, Peter Annan, they would start with a round robbing before the winners proceed to the 1/16th stage and subsequently to the quarter-finals until they got a winner.
