Inter Allies, Hearts in crunch game

Tema-based Inter Allies are optimistic of victory against Accra Hearts of Oak in their Premier League week five clash at the Tema Stadium tomorrow.

Hearts currently lead the league log with 10 points and are undefeated after four matches, while Inter Allies have had a patchy run so far. Coach Herbert Addo’s team won 2-0 against  Aduana Stars, lost  1-2 to Liberty Professionals away, secured a 2-2 draw at home with Dreams FC and held New Edubiase United to a scoreless draw last Sunday.

Now in 10th position, having scored five goals and conceded four, Inter-Allies will have to devise a way to get past a mean Hearts defence which has conceded just one goal in four games.

Last season, Coach Addo was in charge of Hearts when they posted a 2-1 victory over Inter-Allies at Tema. But a year later, Herbert has switched sides and is plotting victory against his former club.

After supervising training at the Tema stadium last Thursday, the experience gaffer expressed optimism about leading his side to victory tomorrow. He maintained that although Hearts were enjoying a good run so far, Inter Allies were determined to stop the Phobians and return to winning ways.

The duo of Evans Mensah and Ropapa Mensah who joined the team for training from the Black Satellites camp, were also positive of victory.

For Mensah, his teammates were psyched up for tomorrow’s challenge. "We are not in the least scared of the Phobians. Yes, they are in top now but we are also ready to halt them in order to boost our morale in the league," he told the Daily Graphic.

A confident Mensah rallied for support as they aim to stop the league leaders. "We just have to work hard and hopefully on Sunday everything will be fine. My colleagues and I are ready. All we need to do is to remain focused and listen to the coach and, hopefully, victory will be ours.”

In anticipation of a good turnout tomorrow, the management of Inter Allies have announced that tickets for the VVIP stand will cost GH¢25 while GH¢7 will be charged at all other areas of the stands.

In other fourth week matches tomorrow, Bechem United will play host to Ebusua Dwarfs at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park at Bechem, Wa All Stars welcome New Edubiase United to the Wa Stadium, WAFA host Liberty Professionals at Sogakope.

High flying Dreams FC will be guests of Techiman City in a clash between two debutants at Techiman.

This afternoon at the Len Clay stadium at Obuasi, defending champions AshantiGold play host to struggling Aduana Stars, who have lost their last three matches.
