GN Bank DOL: Hasaacas to add to King Faisal’s woes?

THEY both have lost the plot to return to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) next season, but there will be a lot to fight for when former GPL sides, King Faisal and sekondi Hasaacas clash in Kumasi for their Match Day 26 fixture of the Division One League (DOL).

Faisal, relegated over three seasons ago, were hoping to make a return next season, just as Hasaacas who dropped last season. Unfortunately, for both of them, Karela FC proved the stronger side and beat them to it, and now,they are left to scramble for good positions on the league table.

Hasaacas are currently sixth on the log with Faisal lying 10th so a win on either side will not just cushion their points build up, but it could enchance their chances of finishing

well in the competition, and given their performances so far, Hasaacas could add up to Faisal’s woes, having lost heavily to Karela FC last week.

While these two former elite sides battle it out in Kumasi, there will be another match of interest at nearby Bekwai where New Edubiase host champions in-waiting, Karela FC, in what will be a crucial game for the hosts, but an exercise for pride for the guests,, given the 20-point gap between them.

After their emphatic win over King Faisal last week, Karela booked their places for next’s season’s GPL, so the only motivation for them will be to remain consistent and maintain their unbeaten record.

For New Edubiase, however, their dream of returning to the GPL almost immediately, has not gone entirely according to plan but can be proud of their position and thus also be out to protect it.

Dreams FC will be keen to firmly hold on to their lead in Zone Three when they travel to face Zein FC on Sunday.
