'GFA has neglected the Under-15 team’
The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has come under fire for the total neglect of the Under-15 national team more than a year after its formation.
A concerned football administrator told Graphic Sports in an interview last Friday about the total neglect after the formation of the team, stating that the FA had turned a complete blind eye on them with nothing happening.

According to him, more than a year after they players were invited to camp at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence by Coach Yaw Preko, no one had heard anything about them again.
“The team went to camp about a year ago just once and since then, nothing has happened after they broke camp to their various homes”, the concerned administrator stated.
He wondered the seriousness of the FA president, and the establishment of the under-15 side explaining that the motive was for it to act as a feeder side to the under-17 national team but so far, not much premium had been placed on them.
“The brain behind its formation by the FA was to develop talents for onward graduation to the under-17 national team but it appears no seriousness is being attached to it”, the administrator who prefers to remain anonymous noted.
He explained that the current Black Starlets technical handlers had begun scouting for talents and they were expected to travel across all the regions looking for talents which, he said, could have been avoided should the under-15 side be operating effectively.
“The under-17 national team is about to call players but if this under-15 side was to be in existence, the coach will only come and pick the best of them and then look for a few other talents to augment the team”, the source stated.
He advised that it was important for the FA to immediately put the under-15 side together and keep them in camp so that they could play together for a long time because that was the only means by which the country could build a formidable under-17 national side.
“If we always wait for the last hour before putting a team together for the under-17 national team, it will be difficult for them to perform well at the international level but if we keep them and transition them to the next level it becomes easy for them to perform", the administrator stated.
