Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has received the Community Impact Award at the 2026 Best of Africa Awards in London in recognition of his contribution beyond football.
The Black Stars winger was honoured at the ceremony, organised in partnership with the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA), which celebrates African excellence and recognises individuals making a positive difference in their communities.
The award highlights the growing recognition of African athletes whose influence extends beyond their performances on the pitch, with particular emphasis on philanthropy, community development and using professional success to create meaningful social impact.
Issahaku, who plays for Ipswich Town, has established himself as one of Ghana’s promising young attacking talents, with his pace, dribbling ability and direct style of play making him an important figure for club and country.
The 22-year-old has represented Ghana at senior level after progressing through the country’s youth ranks. He was also part of the Black Stars squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and has continued to feature in Ghana’s international plans.
The Community Impact Award adds to the winger’s growing profile while recognising his influence beyond competitive football.
Established in 2011, the Best of Africa Awards brings together personalities from sport, entertainment, business and philanthropy. The awards seek to celebrate African achievements and encourage individuals and organisations to use their influence to support communities.
Issahaku’s recognition places him among Africans celebrated not only for their professional achievements but also for their contributions and potential to inspire positive change.
