The championship, in its first edition, will see four countries, namely Ghana, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Mali vying for the stakes.

The tournament begins on Saturday and climaxes on November 15 at the MRC cricket grounds in Fajara and the July 22nd Square cricket grounds in Banjul.

Ahead of the championship, new entrant Jessica Asamoah was a delight to watch as the team engaged Touchpoint Dolphins in a preparatory match last Saturday at the Achimota Cricket Oval.

The 14-year-old batswoman, the youngest member of the female team and pupil of Little Flower Montessori at Dzorwulu, in Accra, displayed zeal and tenacity to hold the fort for the national team as they came up against Dolphins.

The team will play one more friendly before leaving for Banjul on Thursday.
