Chris Hughton offered over a year contract as Black Stars coach

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has offered Chris Hughton a one and half year contract as Black Stars coach ahead of Ghana’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on Thursday, March 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Coach Hughton’s contract details were revealed during his unveiling at SG Mall in Kumasi on Monday as he prepares to lead the Stars against Angola.

According to the GFA, the former Tottenham Hotspurs manager’s contract is subject to renewal based on his performance. Coach Hughton’s assistants, George Boateng, and Didi Dramani have also signed similar contracts with the GFA.

Hughton's appointment comes at a crucial time for Ghanaian football, as the country looks to rebuild her national team after a disappointing performance in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The new coach has been tasked by the GFA to bring back the glory days of Ghanaian football and restore the pride of the nation's football fans.

Hughton has a wealth of experience in football management, having managed teams in the English Premier League and the Championship.
