Chelsea maintain unbeaten run

League leaders Berekum Chelsea lost two valuable home points when they drew 1-1 with their neighbours, Dormaa-Ahenkro-based Aduana Stars, in their league match played at the Berekum Golden City Park on Saturday afternoon.

As the homesters continued to pile pressure on the visitors, it became obvious that the first goal of the match was in sight, and it did come in the 26th minute through a spot kick which was expertly taken by Stephen Amankona.

The penalty came as a result of a long pass from Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad to his Captain Fuseini Zakaria whose kick in search of goal was handled by Aduana's Caleb Amankwaa in the vital area. The Wa-based Class One Referee Alphonso Atiapa wasted no time in awarding the penalty kick.

Determined to carry the day, the Chelsea players continued to dictate the pace of the game and made several inroads into their opponents' area but failed to add to their lone goal during the rest of the first half.

Even though Chelsea continued to play a beautiful football during the second half, it was the Ogya boys who found the equaliser on the 78th minute of the game.

A beautiful cross by winger Tijani Joshua from the right found unmarked Pious Asante Yeboah whose powerful header beat onrushing Danlad for the equaliser.
