Can WAFA break Chelsea jinx?

Premier League leaders, WAFA, will attempt to break a long-standing jinx when they visit the Golden City Park tomorrow to challenge Berekum Chelsea in a Ghana Premier League Week 23 top liner.

WAFA face a tough assignment in a match which could define their season against a wounded Chelsea side who are keen on returning to winning ways after losing 0-2 to Hearts of Oak in midweek.

The statistics favour Chelsea, who have won all their encounters at home against WAFA, with their last two outings ending 1-0 and 2-0 victories for the homesters.

A win for WAFA could put them in a pole position to win the title and end Aduana Stars hopes of annexing the trophy for the first time since 2010.

The game promises to be entertaining, especially where a win for WAFA could push Chelsea to the eighth place.

Coach Randolf Armah of Chelsea and Klaus Rasmussen of WAFA are set to slug it out for a win in what is expected to be a fierce battle for supremacy.

Title-chasing Aduana Stars will seek to find their winning formula as soon as possible when they welcome Ebusua Dwarfs to Dormaa-Ahenkro in a must-win duel to maintain their hopes of annexing the title.

Aduana Stars have the edge to carry the day as a loss could end their chances of challenging for the top spot, especially where they trail leaders WAFA by three points.

Ashantigold will fight for their fifth consecutive win when they lock horns with Elmina Sharks at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

The Miners are enjoying an impressive run in the league and are yet to lose a game since coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor took over the reins of the club. A win could lift them into the top six bracket.

In other matches, Medeama will visit Great Olympics in Accra as the hosts continue their relegation struggle, while Bechem United host Bolga AllStars at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park this afternoon.

Tema Youth will play host to Inter Allies in a thrilling derby as they seek to revive their fortunes.

The big game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak in Kumasi has been postponed indefinitely due to the fatal accident suffered by the former on their way back from their 0-1 defeat to Inter Allies last Wednesday.
