Skipper,n Stella Nyamekye, put the Ghana ladies ahead in the 38th minute as she converted a penalty.

The Falconets started on a bright note when they pushed the Princesses to their own half in search of the opener but were unable to utilise their chances.

Goalkeeper, Afi Amenyaku denied the Nigerian from taking an early lead in the 16th minute when she tipped a goal bound effort over the cross bar.

But Ghana profited from a penalty in the 38th minute when Comfort Owusu was fouled in the box to allow Nyamekye to convert from the spot and put the Black Princesses in front.

The Falconets continued to push for the equaliser while the Princesses were determined to extend their lead but to no avail.

Nigeria returned from recess much strong and mounted pressure with Esther Opeyemi meandering her way through to fire a shot, but Amenyaku proved equal to the task.

At the other end, it was Faiza Seidu who managed to weave her way through the Nigerian defense but her effort was blocked.

Four minutes before regulation time, Flourish Sabastien profited from a howler by goalkeeper, Amenyaku to plant the ball into the net for the equaliser.

But both teams managed to keep the score line until the match ended for a penalty shootout where Ghana’s goalkeeper, Amenyaku, became the hero of the day after saving the first two penalties by the Nigerians.
