Aubynn: Galaxies could be feeder side for Black Stars
The Chairman of the Black Galaxies management team, Dr Toni Aubynn, believes if more attention is focused on the Galaxies, they could serve as a feeder side to the Black Stars.

He explained that instead of waiting for a tournament before assembling players to form a team, it was important to secure a team and that is why they have decided to be proactive by looking for talents both in the lower tier and the premier league to form the core of the team now.
He told the Graphic Sports in an interview that the era where the Black Stars must hurriedly be assembled for some friendly matches should be over as these players could easily be put together to represent the national team should there be an emergency assignment.
''The Black Galaxies is a team we should focus on if we want to generate credible players for the Black Stars. They are based here, and they stand ready to play any game where the Black Stars are not available.
''Since they are in the country, we need to prepare them, so the strategy of management and the new technical team is that rather than sit down and getting closer to events before we know that these names are very good players, the new coach, Didi Dramani went round to every league centre to watch the games and to pick players'', the chairman of the management committee said.
Besides, Dr Aubynn believes when the Black Stars coach has to draft a locally-base player into the national team, he needs not look any further than the Black Galaxies where he can easily pick talents to augment the Stars.
Dr Aubynn, who is also the board chairman of premier league side, Medeama SC said with this exercise, once the coach gets the required number of players to form the Galaxies, the next step would involve monitoring.
''After picking the best from the list of invited players, then he as a coach can be monitoring each player then anytime we have a match, maybe Ghana has a game that probably doesn't require to assemble all the Black Stars players, they are there to represent.
''Again, if there is a regular Black Stars player who is unable to make it, we can say we have an equivalent player in the Galaxies who is good and can replace him and then also we have the opportunity of giving the Black Stars some local players, so I think it's a good thing and quite novel'', he stated.
