The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) has appointed African Origin Travel and Sports Tourism as the official travel agent for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

The Ministry in a statement issued on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, said the company owned by Samson Deen has been officially appointed as the authorised ticket and hospitality agent for Ghana's participation in the games from July 28 to August 8.

"As Ghana’s authorised travel agent for the games, African Origin becomes the sole company responsible for organisation of hospitality packages for Ghanaian fans looking to travel to the United Kingdom for the games.

"The Ghana-based travel and sports tourism company will also be responsible for providing full travel services to Ghanaiansm" parts of the statement read.

However, the Ministry of Youth and Sports called on the company to liaise with them and officials of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to provide complete travel services to Team Ghana.

African Origin Travel and Tours has over 20 years experience in the sports tourism industry and was Ghana’s official hospitality partner for the 2010 World Cup and more recently the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroun.
