The event is expected to bring together 13 special schools across the country to compete in various disciplines, including soccer, athletics, basketball, tennis, volleyball, as well as indoor games.
The participating teams include Cape Coast school for the deaf and blind and various special schools in the Central, Ashanti, Upper West and Upper East regions.
Briefing the Graphic Sports, the organiser, Ms. Nelly Armah, said participating schools in the maiden games proved that when given the opportunity, they would have a lot of abilities to showcase in the area of sports.
“The excitement on the part of the students, teachers and head teachers who participated in the first edition spoke volumes of the H4P organisation.
There is no better way the H4P organisation can celebrate its third anniversary than give another opportunity to these special education schools for them to explore their abilities in the area of sports, hence, the second edition of the H4P inter- schools disability fun games”, she explained.
Ms. Armah said the H4P organisation believed that given the opportunity and support, disabled persons would be able to nurture their God- given talents in every endeavour.
Expressing concern about societal neglect towards such persons, she said children with disabilities had the potential to lead fulfilling lives and also contribute to the socio-cultural and economic development of their respective communities.
