Mr Linford Asamoah Boadu, the regional chairman, who disclosed this after securing a kit sponsorship deal for the region worth $35,000 believes such practice, if not checked, had the tendency of posing a health risk to the players.

The regional chairman said each Division Two club in the region are required to register about 30 players and stated that poor financial situation of the clubs makes it impossible to acquire jerseys to cover each player for a game hence they resort to swapping shirts during substitution.

That unhealthy practice forced him to secure sponsorship for the clubs which he believes would help brand the clubs as well as the game in the region.

“I decided to secure a kit sponsorship for the RFA Clubs and with this idea, I got $35,000 sponsor for Eastern RFA which will help every club to have branded jerseys, top and shorts, socks or stockings with specific jersey number for each player. I strongly believe this will go a long way to brand the Eastern Regional game”, he told ghanafa.org.
