Madam Yvonne Adjei-Hagan is the Secretary of the group while Michael Asante is the Public Relations Officer.

At a short ceremony held at the Media Centre of the Accra Stadium in the presence of Horen Quashigah, a deputy director of the Youth and Sports Ministry; and Gyesi Boako, a Metropolitan Youth Director of the National Youth Authority, the new executives were inducted into office.

After taking the oath of office, Mr Quashigah charged the new executives of the new association to stick to the policy direction of the Sports Ministry.
"We are going to work closely with you to make the sport known across the length and breadth of the country," he stated.

He added that the ministry was responsible for the implementation and monitoring of sports policies and his outfit would monitor the activities of the Wushu Association to ensure they didn't backslide.

Mr Boako charged the new executives to popularise the discipline to gain national attention.

For his part, Mr O'Brien Robinson revealed the Wushu was a Chinese oriented martial arts which combined all the areas of martial arts into a sporting form.

"In Wushu, we see elements of kick-boxing, taekwondo, karate, boxing and mixed martial arts," he noted.

The chairman of the association, Mr Wilson, appealed to corporate entities for support for the sport to make it grow and develop into a national discipline.

He disclosed that Wushu was now present in eight regions, including Greater Accra, Bono, Ahafo, Ashanti, Northern, Volta and Eastern regions.

A Wushu martial arts expert, Master Ku, known in private life as Collins Kumenya, demonstrated with other learners how the sport should be practised.
