Kamal Sulley, the president of the Ghana Canoeing and Rowing Association has been appointed as an executive board member of the International Canoe Federation (ICF).
Sulley, a technical officer for the ICF was appointed last Friday after a meeting of the board.
Per the appointment, he would officiate a series of competitions including the Olympic Games qualifiers, World Championships, the upcoming Olympic Games and any other international event.
He told Graphic Online that he will use his new position to enhance the sport in Ghana.
"I thank the ICF for doing me this honour and I will not relent in my zeal at seeing the successful growth and development of canoeing and rowing in the country," he stated.
