Midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has scored the 1500th goal in the history of the African Cup of nations after slotting in Ghana’s second goal in the semi-final match against Equatorial Guinea.
Jordan Ayew converted from the spot to give Ghana the opener after Kwesi Appiah was brought down by goalkeeper Ovono in the 41st minute.
Wakaso added the second goal in the 46th minute to give Ghana a 2-0 advantage at half time.
Stand-in Captain, Andre Ayew, scored a third in the 75th minute to seal Ghana’s victory.
