The 24-year-old, who plays for Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg, went under the knife at one of the best hospitals in the European country.

It was thought the Red Bull Salzburg defender suffered a suspected cruciate ligament injury when he was substituted during last week Tuesday’s Austrian FA Cup match.

But MRI scans conducted on the Ghana international  o shown that he had pulled a collateral ligament.

Doctors worked on him from 9am local Austrian time hoping that the surgery can aid a speedy recovery for the Ghana international.

“Isaac Vorsah was  operated on last Friday and will be out of action for around six months,” Red Bull Salzburg said in a statement.

The Austria based centre-back will be out of action until October and he will miss three key World Cup qualifiers for the Black Stars.

He will not be available for the Black Stars when they play three crucial World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho next month as well as the crucial match against Zambia in September.
