Top clubs chase Mahatma

Former skipper of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mahatma Otoo, is currently on the radar of some European clubs this season after some convincing performances in Norway with his club, Songdal.

The 22-year-old has been at the centre of a revival tale of Songdal, who occupy the mid-section of the table in the Norwegian league having narrowly escaped relegation last season.

His manager, Ashford Tettey-Oku, confirmed to the Graphic Sports yesterday that some European clubs had already expressed their readiness to sign the player but maintained they would still weigh the options before taking any decision.

“Several interests have come from European clubs including some top Norwegian clubs”, he stated ruling out any intentions to sign for another Norwegian side.

Sogndal, he said, had already offloaded three key players and were ready to let Mahatma  go in order to rake in some cash to recruit other young talents..

Mahatma has been in great form this season, establishing himself as one of the leading marksmen of the Norway league with five goals to his credit.
