The division between the Sierra Leone Football Association and the country's sports ministry is continuing, this time with a row over the national Under-20 team.
The team arrived in Ghana yesterday for Saturday's African Under-20 qualifier game to be played at the Tamale Stadium, but it is unclear if it is the team from the SLFA or the ministry. Each body has named a rival coach for the team.
The SLFA insists Alimamy Turay is still in charge of the team despite an announcement by the Sports Minister Paul Kamara last week that he had been sacked.
The minister named former Sierra Leone international, Atto Mensah, as a replacement for Turay, after the 0-2 loss at home last month in the first leg against Ghana.
"As far as we are concerned, coaches Turay and his assistant, Charlie Wright, are still in charge of the team," Abu Bakarr Kamara, a member of the SLFA Media Committee, told BBC Sport.
But the sports ministry is adamant that the Ghana-born Mensah will lead the team to Tamale.
"If the SLFA attempts to make any arrangement for the team to travel to Ghana, they will not be allowed to leave the country," deputy Sports Minister, Al Sankoh Al Conteh, said.
Both sets of coaches organised training sessions last Monday morning at different venues with majority attending Turay's session.
