The Presidential Commission of Inquiry mandated to investigate the Black Stars participation in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil will today begin a seminar to educate journalists on the coverage of its sittings.
There will be two separate programmes starting at 9.30 a.m on each occasion, with the Southern sector edition coming off at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium today, while journalists in the Northern sector will have their turn at the Press Centre of the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday.
In an interview with the Daily Graphic, Moses Foh-Amoaning, a member of the Commission, explained, that the seminar would educate journalists to uphold the ethical standards of their profession during ktghe coverage of the commission work.
“The Commission is organising this session so that the journalists will be reminded of the ethical standards of their profession. They will also be taken through sessions on issues of libel, slander and contempt of the Commission and how to avoid them”, he stated.
The Commission, chaired by Justice Senyo Dzamefe, is set to begin its work on Monday, August 11, at the Media Centre of the Accra Stadium.
