Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo is still complaining about a "muscle problem at the back of his left thigh" and will undergo a specific training programme as a result, according to a statement released Thursday by the Portuguese Football Federation.
Pending a fuller examination, the striker will most likely sit out Portugal's friendly against Greece on Saturday, to be played on the outskirts of the Portuguese capital.
The muscle injury has been bothering him in recent weeks.
Even though this is a worry for the Portuguese national team, it may sound a good news for the Ghana Black Stars who would be playing the current FIFA world best player in the Group stages of the World Cup in Brazil.
Ronaldo is seen as a major threat to the defence of the Black stars.
He was re-united with the rest of the Portuguese squad together with Real teammates Pepe and Fábio Coentrao, the trio fresh from their Champions League triumph in Lisbon last Saturday.
Clad in a leather jacket and a striking light blue cap, the Madrid star made his arrival on Thursday morning and created enormous expectation among the locals of Óbidos, a town situated some 80 kilometres north of Lisbon, where "las quinas" are getting ready for the Brazilian World Cup.
"Ronaldo's presence is good because he takes the focus off other players not so accustomed to being in the public eye," claims Benfica midfielder Rúben Amorim.
However, having recently won 'la Décima' with Real Madrid, the Portuguese captain is still complaining of a muscle injury that has been bothering him in recent weeks.
