RAG boss commends referees

The chairman of the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG), Bismark Debrah, believes referees who had the opportunity to officiate in the various leagues in the country in the 2019/20 season performed better to make the League litigation-free.

He was convinced about the high level of officiating by referees on the resumption of the League in December 2019, following the suspension of football in 2018 due to Anas’ Number12 exposé.

In an interview with Graphic Sports, the RAG boss said the referees’ input and contribution in the League improved and that they expressed the hope to build upon their delivery in the coming season.

“Referees are like the army, we are always prepared. We would deliver if we are called to the field at anytime,“.

According to Mr Debrah, referees had not gone to sleep as the season had been cancelled, but his men were training hard at both El-Wak and the Kumasi Stadium to stay fit for the 2010/21 season scheduled to commence in October.

“Preparations are underway and they (referees) have been busy to keep fit, and if the League is to start today, I am confident they will not disappoint but will give of their best “.

He advised referees to be disciplined in their daily activities to stay fit and also follow all the safety protocols to remain healthy.
