Premiership title race: Will it be Kotoko or Chelsea?

Kotoko players aiming for the titleAll eyes will be on the Tema Stadium and the Kpando Park as the Glo Premier League title  could be decided at either venue where title chasers Kumasi Asante kotoko and Berekum Chelsea face tricky encounters in the final week clashes.
Equally important is the relegation dogfight involving Kpando Heart of Lions, Tema Youth and Berekum Arsenal, two of whom will join relegated RTU to Division One football next season.

Arsenal’s battle against relegation was enhanced three days ago after the Berekum side was awarded three points after the FA’s Disciplinary Committee upheld the club’s protest against RTU for fielding an unqualified player in their clash in Tamale.

Nonetheless, 15th-placed Arsenal still need a good win over Ebusua Dwarfs and hope that Lions and Tema Youth slip to ensure they remain in the elite division.

Second-placed Chelsea, who are gunning for their second league title, will be hoping that Kotoko slip at Tema against Amidaus Professionals, even as the Berekum side battle Lions at Kpando, with the home side facing a must-win situation to avoid relegation.

With the wounded Lions’ survival hinged on a victory, it means Chelsea face an uphill task taming the home side before their partisan crowd. Berekum Chelsea aiming for gold

But Kotoko’s encounter remains dicey as Amidaus Professionals have vowed to avenge their 3-1 defeat during the FA Cup semi-finals at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Tema-based side have promised to make life difficult for the Porcupine Warriors at Tema.

Elsewhere at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi,  Liberty Professionals face King Faisal, while relegation-bound RTU journey to the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi to play their last Premier League game against Ashantigold.

Aduana Stars, who are serving a two-home ban will take on Wa All Stars in another exciting battle at Tamale Sports Stadium, while Tema Youth take their relegation fight to the Accra Spoerts stadium to battle sixth-placed Hearts of Oak who are eyeing top four finish.

At the Tarkwa T&A Park, Medeama SC play host to New Edubiase United.
