Our time will come - Atsu speaks on AFCON disappointment

Black Stars winger, Christian Atsu, has expressed regret over Ghana’s failure to lift the AFCON 2015 trophy in Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars lost 8-9 to the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in the final after a barren 120 minutes of football.

Commenting on the defeat via his Facebook page, Atsu said “I'm really sad that we couldn't lift the trophy for our country…”

The 23-year-old, who was voted “Player of the Tournament’, said it was, however, important that the team continues to fight to try and win the trophy.

The Chelsea player, who is currently on loan at Everton, expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for supporting him during the tournament, adding: “…it means a lot to me.”
