Kumasi, he noted, had always been fertile grounds for the national football team and indicated that history will repeat itself.

The Asantehene said he would have wished to be at the Stadium to watch the team perform but  said he would religiously follow the game.

“At the end of  the day, I know that victory will be ours,” Otumfuo  emphasised.

Commending the team for the respect it continued to show to the Golden Stool , the Asantehene said he would continue to pray for the team to succeed.

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Kwasi Nyantakyi, thanked the Asantehene for his continuous support and love for the team.

“WE are overwhelmed by the way Otumfuo  receive  and bless us anytime we are in Kumasi,” he said.

Mr Nyantakyi promised that the team would not disappoint the nation on Sunday.
