Black Stars winger, Sulley Ali Muntari, is backing his teammates to beat the Chipolopolo of Zambia in their crunch World Cup qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium later today.
Muntari, whose outburst in Ghana’s last game apparently cost him a place in the national team, wants his colleagues to go all out to ensure they bagged the three points.
Yesterday, Muntari in a tweet wished the Black Stars well and urged them to go for glory. ‘‘Good luck Black Stars, let’s get the three points,’’ the 29-year-old midfielder tweeted.
The AC Milan star has fallen out of favour with Coach Kwasi Appiah after he was reported to have been embroiled in some exchange of word with the Black Stars trainer for substituting him during their qualifier against Lesotho a few months back.
Though Muntari is reported to have apologised for his misconduct since then, he has fallen out of favour with the Ghanaian trainer who axed him from his squad to face Zambia and Japan despite his show of remorse.
It is unknown when the AC Milan ace who has had stints with Udinese, Portsmouth, Inter Milan and Sunderland will make a return to the national side, with very little coming from officialdom regarding his exclusion from the team or whether he would get another opportunity.
Sulley was among four players, including Kevin-Prince Boateng, Dede and Jordan Ayew and Michael Essien who had issues with the FA and were requested to officially notify the football governing body before they are considered back to the team.
