Milovan Rajevac: Andre Ayew available for selection against Gabon

Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac, has indicated that skipper Andre Ayew will be fit to start against Gabon in their second Group C game of the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo on Friday.

Coach Rajevac said he allowed Ayew to sit out of training yesterday to help him recover from his knock to put him in shape ahead of the encounter with the Panthers of Gabon.

Ghana are in a make-or-break game against the Gabonese side knowing that a defeat to the Central Africa side could kick them out of the tournament.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Serbian trainer said the team was ready to work  harder to come out victorious.

“Andre was allowed to miss training yesterday to have him rest ahead of our game with Gabon but everything is in place for him to comeback.

“He will be fit to play tomorrow but I don’t like talking about my selections before matches so let’s wait and see what happens tomorrow,” Coach Milo said.

Ghana are placed bottom in Group C behind Gabon, Morocco, and Comoros after the first matches.

Gabon and Morocco are on three points each with Comoros and Ghana trailing without a point after losing their respective matches in the opening games.
