Milovan Rajavac says he can’t wait to join the Black Stars' technical team again after arriving in Ghana last Monday.
The Serbian was delighted that he was rejoining the big Black Stars family for the first time after he led the team to a historic quarter-final berth at the 2010 World Cup.
The 60-year-old tactician has been given the nod to take up the role as a technical advisor to Stars’ coach Kwasi Appiah but it is believed the Serbian will eventually play the boss in the unlikely event of the stars losing against Togo today.
He was expected to conclude his contractual details with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and told GNA Sports, “I cannot wait to join the family again."
The Serbian hinted he would join the team when the Stars hit the road to Lome to face the Hawks of Togo in a mid-week Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
"I am very excited to be back here, my second home. It is always relaxing and I love it here. We will see what will happen as the team get ready for the next match", he said.
Rajavac made the cut among the three shortlisted for the technical advisory role and is expected to conclude his terms with the three-member committee tasked with his appointment before approval by the Executive Committee of the GFA.
Milo, as he is affectionately called by Ghanaian fans, enjoyed a two-year successful spell with Ghana when he guided the Black Stars to win silver medal at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola before the quarter final finish at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa later that year.
Incidentally, during his stint with Ghana, Coach Appiah was his assistant, however, he refused to renew his contract, compelling the GFA to sign on his compatriot, Goran Stevanovic.
