Ghana defender John Mensah boosted his chances of making the Black Stars World Cup squad in June after making his second successive start in the Slovakian top-flight last Saturday.
According to Ghanasoccernet.com, Mensah, who is recovering from a spinal surgery which laid him off for almost a year, was in action for FC Nitra’s in their 1-2 defeat to Senica.
His continuous playing time for the Slovakian side is expected to provide him the needed match fitness to fight for a place in Ghana’s World Cup squad, the site reported.
The 31-year-old former Lyon defender was substituted in the 73rd minute.
