Kotoko meet Ashgold in FA Cup duel at Baba Yara

League leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko host Ashgold in an all-premiership cracker at the quarter final stage of the ongoing 2013/2014 MTN FA Cup, following the draw last Monday.

Kotoko, twice-losing finalists, and the second most successful team in the history of the FA Cup, with seven titles, must subdue rivals Ashgold who have been a torn in their flesh in recent times.

Kotoko must prove their worth against Ashgold,  who won the trophy once in 1993, if they are to continue their quest for a league and FA Cup double.

Sensational Fetteh Feyenord, who were tipped to win the trophy by both the FA Cup Committee Chairman (FACC), Lepowura MND Jawula, and Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi,  prior to the draw, will face the winners of the last-16 game between Okwawu United and defending champions, Medeama SC.

In the remaining fixtures of the round, King Faisal will be guests of the winners of the round-of-32 tie between Aduana Stars and Dawhenya FC, who subsequently play Bechem United in a last-16 game, while Herbert Addo’s Inter Allies, who have enjoyed a new lease of life since the turn of the year, host the 1985 winners, Sekondi Hasaacas.

All venues and dates for the round will be confirmed later by the FACC.
