Kotoko cruise to final

Uncrowned Premier League champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, kept their dream of a double title this season alive when they disposed of city rivals, King Faisal, 2-0 in the MTN/ FA Cup semi-finals at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to book a date with Inter Allies for the grand finale.

Two first half goals by Aziz Yusif on the 22nd minute and arrowhead, Seidu Bancey, on the 36th minute were enough to put kotoko on track for the dream double.

The two finalists clash at the Accra Sports Stadium at a date yet to be announced.

But the result was not a true reflection of the game as Faisal, though dominated, indulged in fanciful play which turned out to be unproductive.

Indeed, Kotoko gave their fans a glimpse of what they should expect on Sunday in their penultimate clash with Accra Hearts of Oak in Kumasi as they were very tactful and made use of their opportunities.

Faisal's attempts at walking the ball into the net failed yet, Coach Prince Acheampong had no alternative plan.

Alhaji Gruzah's boys simply wilted under pressure from Kotoko before a poorly attended match as fans were deceived by earlier reports that the match had been called off.
