Joseph Paintsil: Let's fix our mistakes against Gabon

Black Stars forward, Joseph Paintsil, has called on his teammates to come together to fix their mistakes ahead of their next game of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) against Gabon on Friday.

The KRC Genk player said the team needs to come back stronger to win on Friday to avoid another disappointing result against the Panthers.

Ghana lost 0-1 to Morocco in their opening Group C match after Sofiane Boufal capitalised on a lose ball in the Ghanaian defence to finish off a fine goal for Morocco.

Reacting to the defeat, Paintsil, who was arguably Ghana’s best player against Morocco, told the media that his teammates did everything to win but lost in the final minutes of the game.

“We did everything to win but we unfortunately didn’t get it and we have to go back and work harder for the next game.

“Going into the next game, we must fix our mistakes in training and come back stronger to win against Gabon at all cost,” Painsil noted.

Ghana are placed bottom in Group C after Gabon narrowly secured a 1-0 victory over Comoros in the other group game.

The Black Stars face a must win situation when they take on Gabon if they are to save their AFCON campaign and coach Milovan Rajevac must make changes to the team ahead of the match with the Atlas Lions.
