The founder of US-based International Christian Charity and Missionary Center (ICCMC), Rev Daniel Hemans Arday, has donated a large quantity of food supplements to the national U-17 women’s soccer team, the Black Maidens, to enhance their preparations towards next November’s final World Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea.
The gesture, which was in collaboration with the True Teachings of Christ Temple of Holland, was in commemoration of the first anniversary celebration of ICCMC’s Ghana branch at Ningo, near Prampram.
Making the presentation, Rev Arday, elder brother of Coach Sam Arday of Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy fame, said the provisions were meant to nourish the Maidens ahead of the crucial tie with Equatorial Guinea.
According to him the donation formed part of the charity ministry of ICCMC.
Coach Francis Oti Akenten, the Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association, received the items on behalf of the Black Maidens and expressed gratitude to ICCMC for that wonderful deed, stressing that the nourishment would help the players to clear the final hurdle.
Coach Sam Arday, who witnessed the ceremony, also thanked the Lord for using his brother to affect more lives.
In a related development, the ICCMC also donated footballs to the president of the Ningo Youth Association to help promote soccer in the Ningo-Prampram District.
