Berenger signed a two-year deal with the Phobians after stints in Jordan and is expected to strengthen the club’s midfield. He is the second Ivorian to be signed by Hearts after the club’s regular centre-back, Robin Gnagne.
Also on the list is Philip Boampong a former centre-back of the club who is making a return to the Phobian fold after a spell with Al-Shoulla FC of Saudi Arabia.
Another prominent signing for the Phobians is hard running striker, Ezekiel Tetteh, who led the Okwawu assault last season in their Dvision One campaign scoring a couple of goals for the mountainers who missed the premiership train narrowly.
Tetteh, who was loaned to Okwawu by Division One side, Sporting Mirren, is expected to beef up the Phobians’ attack which has failed to click even after the signing of Sellassie Adjei from premiership side, Amidaus Profossionals.
Other signings are Gerald Odupon Wellington from Ashgold and Abdul Manan Mustapha from Kumasi-based lower tier side Asokwa Warriors.
Hearts successfully completed the registration of the players before the 5 pm transfer deadline last Monday and they will be available for selection by Coach Mohammed Polo when the second round of the season begins on February 11.
