Hearts host Kotoko in Top 4

Accra Hearts of Oak will play arch rivals Kumasi  Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 24 when GHALCA Top 4 competition kicks off.

In the other game Ashgold host Kpando Heart of Lions at the Len Clay Stadium.

Announcing the fixtures at the launch of this year’s Ghalca Top 4 competition, GHALCA chairman, Alhaji Ali Raji,  said the association was determined to revive the competition and make it as attractive as it was sometime ago.

“The GHALCA Top 4 is reborn and we are determined to ensure it regains the excitement it is noted for,” he stated.

“We have a master plan to ginger the spectatoring of the Top 4.

“Our executive committee members will be embarking on a campaign to whip up support for the tournament in all the venues, starting tomorrow.

We will from tomorrow name our various committees to be tasked with roles to ensure the competition is a success,” he stressed.

The competition is a pre-season tournament for the top four finishers of the previous Premier League campaign.

This year’s competition will be played at three venues – Baba Yara, Len Clay and Accra Sports Stadium.

There is, however, an innovative twist to this year’s format.

The top two finishers after the all-play-all stage will compete for the giant trophy which, according  to Alhaji Raji, will arrive from Italy.
