Accra Hearts of Oak yesterday dropped two valuable away points as they drew goalless with King Faisal in their First Capital Plus Premier League match at the Baba Yara Stadium Sunday.
But the Phobians maintain their hold on the second spot with 35 points. Indeed, Hearts were let off the hook as striker Wilson Andoh hit the crossbar, a penalty awarded King Faisal on 82nd minute.
Hearts struggled for a greater part of the match and had little to sell to their travelling fans.
The Phobians were kept on the backfoot for most part of the first half and only came close on 10th minute when Selasie Adjei's miscalculated control with his chest inside the box was foiled by goalkeeper Ibrahim Iddrisu.
And 18 minutes later, Paul Acquah flew the ball over the crossbar as Coach Mohammed Polo stood in awe.
Faisal were sluggish in their finishing after incessant attacks while Hearts’ defence lost focus, committing series of avoidable mistakes at the rear.
Hearts improved a little in the second half but lacked rhythm as a frustrated Alhaji Abdul Karim Gruzah, in a characteristic mood, descended intermittently from the Presidential Box to complain about poor officiating.
Faisal Coach Do rain Mara was sent off by Referee Seidu Bomison for his persistent clashes with players on the touchline during time added on.
