GNPC salutes Black Stars

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), headline sponsor of the Black Stars, has sent a message of congratulations to the  Black Stars on their qualification to next year's FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The Black Stars rode on a healthy first leg win to qualify on a 7-3 aggregate after losing 1-2 to the Pharaohs of Egypt in the return leg match played in Cairo yesterday.

In a message, the Chief Executive Officer of the GNPC, Alex Mould, praised the gallant players  for the tenacity of purpose, resilience and professional excellence that they  demonstrated as a team in the qualifiers and in particular yesterday's match.

“By your overall sterling performance in the qualifiers, you have enrolled Ghana in the line-up of the world’s elite football nations that will assemble in Brazil in 2014. You’ve made Ghana proud; and we are especially proud to be associated with you as Headline Sponsor," Mr Mould stated.

“We join all Ghanaians in saying to you, the players, Kwasi Appiah and his technical team, as well as the management, ‘Ayekoo’, for lifting high the flag of Ghana”

GNPC further lauded the collective effort of the media, supporters and all Ghanaians whose support in diverse ways ensured the success of the team.
