Ghana was placed among Africa's top five seeds for the final qualifying round for the 2014 World Cup but Tunisia was a late surprise inclusion in the place of the disqualified Cape Verde.
The Black Stars and four other seeded group winners from the second round qualifiers, comprising Cote ‘Ivoire, Algeria and Nigeria and Tunisia based on the FIFA ranking following Cape Verde's disqualification for fielding an ineligible player.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF), announced the seeding yesterday moments with Cape Verdes hopes for a maiden World Cup qualification dashed after FIFA disqualified them for fielding an ineligible player against Tunisia in their Group B campaign.
All five seeded teams will avoid each other in the draw for Africa's third round qualifying.
It means the Black Stars could draw either Egypt, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Senegal or Cameroun for the two-leg ties, with the winners going to the finals in Brazil.
