The Black Stars of Ghana will play the Netherlands on May 31 and South Korea on June 9 in two friendly games requested by Coach Kwasi Appiah as part of preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi disclosed this at a press briefing which was also used to announce the 26-man provisional World Cup squad yesterday.
According to Mr Nyantakyi, the Stars would begin non-residential camping in Accra from May 20 to 23 during which they would pay a courtesy call and have dinner with President John Dramani Mahama before honouring a farewell game against a local select-side.
The 26-man provisional squad and coaching team would subsequently depart for Amsterdam on May 24 for training and a friendly match with the Netherlands on May 31 at the De Kuip Arena.
After the Netherlands game, the squad would be trimmed down to 23 players before continuing their journey to Miami via Washington D.C. on June 1.
On June 9, the Stars would face South Korea at the Sunlife Stadium, Miami before leaving on June 10 for their base in Maceio, Brazil where they are expected to arrive on June 11 ahead of their first World Cup game against the USA.
The GFA boss also revealed that the Stars would wear the predominantly white home-strip in their opening game against the USA, the red-away strip for their second game with Germany and white for their final game against Portugal.
