The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will from Saturday commence airing of its own programmes on TV to give the viewing public, behind-the-scenes coverage of national team matches and inner functions of the football management bodies.
The concept is to follow in the footsteps of other international bodies such as the FIFA and UEFA both of which produce and telecast their programmes on their dedicated TV channels.
At the official launch yesterday of what would be called GFA TV, Kwesi Nyantakyi, president of the GFA, said their intention was not to rival any of the local networks but to compliment their good work.
He said the programme would showcase the good works their sponsors were doing for them as well as the good thing his outfit was doing and disclosed that it had been outsourced to J&J Multimedia which had oversight responsibility to run the programme.
Communications Director of the FA, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, emphasised that their intension was not to rival any of the local TV stations but to offer viewers an in-depth insight into their activities.
He said grassroot football development would be featured prominently just as the local leagues, women football and the national teams, with exclusive interviews of players, their technical team and officials running football in the country .
The 30-minute programme would be aired on national broadcaster GTV at 9:00 pm, but Mr Sannie Daara assured other networks which wanted to have the programme aired on their channels to contact their marketing team.
