Fabulous Ladies Sunday took their destiny in their own hands by beating Ampem Darkoa Ladies 4-0 to regain the top spot in the northern zone of the National Women's League to qualify for their second championship decider of the National Women's League (NWL).
Fabulous Ladies will thus play Hasaacas Ladies again in the championship decider after Hasaacas also finished on top of the southern zone with a 3-0 win over Soccer Intellectuals at the Sekondi Sports Stadium, Essipon, yesterday.
The decider to be played on a yet to be confirmed date, will be a replay of last season’s match, which was won by Hasaacas.
Trailing Prisons by two points before yesterday's game, Fabulous needed to win at all cost and they had their work made easy for them by Ashtown Ladies who dashed Prison Ladies's hope with a 2-1 win in the final day’s fixtures of the NWL.
A draw could have helped Prisons Ladies to remain on top but Ashtown Ladies, denied them that chance as they snatched victory with first half goals from Ruth Appiah and Ruth Anima before the Reformers Ladies had their consolation through a penalty.
At the end of the season, Ayola and Sharp Arrows were relegated while Oforikrom Ladies and Soccer Intellectuals will meet in the relegation play-off.
