FA Cup: Feyenoord stun Medeama to reach sem-final

Feyenoord Academy caused another major upset yesterday after booting out MTN FA Cup holders, Medeama, to book a semi-final date with Inter Allies at the Accra Stadium on Sunday.

It was a game of two equal halves as exciting Feyenoord opened a late fire to overturn an early lead by Medeama and secure a vital 2-1 win on their favourite astro turf at Gomoa Fetteh.

Godbless Asamoah capitalised on a defensive blunder to shoot the defending champions ahead in the 27th minute, but when the young energetic Feyenoord boys took over in the second half Medeama were found gasping for breath till FIFA referee Joseph Lamptey ended the game.

The rampaging Feyenoord succeeded in cancelling the lead in the 67th through Abukari Ibrahim's free header.

In the 83rd minute slippery striker Samuel Tetteh drilled the final nail into the coffin of the opponents, after running through the Medeama defence before firing home a delicate low shot to the near post past goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe.
