The club was jointly formed by the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, Mohammed Jiji Alifoe and Prince Abdul Hamid as a second division side on July 14, 2009, to depict the attitude of believers in this life.

History

The journey to what has now become a model club in Ghana Football today started from the Ashale Botwe community park in Accra.

Since then the club has produced the likes of Baba Rahman, Leonard Owusu, Emmanuel Lomotey, John Antwi, Benjamin Tetteh, and Samuel Alabi, among others, who all wore the iconic green jersey at a point in their respective careers.

“After holding a historic decade celebration last year the club is pleased to announce to its fans that a journey to another decade has started today.

“We express great gratitude to fans, sponsors, and all stakeholders for providing us with an unprecedented support and always believing in our dream,” the club’s Administration Manager, Ameenu Shardow, said in a tweet.

President’s remarks

The President of the club, Mohammed Jiji Alifoe, believed that this is a moment for everyone at the club - players, fans and stakeholders - to reflect on how far the club had come and the best way to take the club to the next level of greatness.

The club marked the celebration with a #DFC11 campaign on social media and climaxed it with a short ceremony at the club’s secretariat.
