Don Bortey close to New Edubiase move

One-time ‘serial killer’ on the local football scene, Bernard Don Bortey, is on the verge of joining New Edubiase United for the next season.

Don Bortey is set to team up with former Black Stars defender, Daniel Edusei, who is returning from Greece and a long term injury for Edubiase’s upcoming league campaign.

Striker Samuel Azumah from Wa All Stars and Samuel Ayisi from Hearts of Oak have also committed themselves to the club although all four players are yet to be registered for the season.

According to Edwin Amarh, team manager of New Edubiase, very little remained to be finalised for the players to join the club.

All four players have joined the club’s pre-season preparations which have taken them to Tema and Begro where they have featured in friendly games.

Bortey, a crowd puller who reached his peak with Hearts during their glory days of the early 2000s, saw off the final year of his contract with Aduana Stars at the close of the last league season.

Edusei returned to Ghana with injury more than a year ago, and his career relaunch has been a success so far with no complaints all through his appearances during pre-season.
