The Division One League board, in consultation with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has ordered that the final matches for the zonal leagues be played this weekend.

Apart from the lure of the  Middle League participation for the top clubs, others are embroiled in a fight against relegation.

With an almost clean league devoid of the usual complex litigation that characterised the competition, this year’s league appears headed for a non-dramatic finish in terms of fighting for points outside the field.

Following a meeting with the Executive Committee of the GFA last Tuesday, the DOL board has instructed that the final matches involving zones 1A, 2B and 3B will all be played on Sunday, while zones 1B, 2A and 3A will play on Saturday.

According to Kwame Ntow-Fiako, chairman of the DOL board, security and video coverage were being arranged to aid in a smooth ending to the season at the zonal level.

He entreated clubs and their supporters to co-operate for a smooth ending.
