South African clubs, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, face tricky away trips in their respective Champions League assignments this weekend.
While Kaizer Chiefs must overcome a 1-0 deficit from the first leg against Raja Casablanca, Sundowns must hold on to their slim 1-0 lead as they visit Mazembe.
Already trailing and considering the fact that they have never won in north Africa in the Champions League competition, Chiefs must brace themselves up for another disappointment, or pull out a surprise against the former champions, to survive.
Meanwhile, Morocco King, Mohammed VI, has ordered a private plane for Moghreb Athletic de Tétouan's trip to Kano, Nigeria where they will play their second leg of the round of 32 in the CAF Champions League match against Kano Pillars on Saturday.
“King Mohammed VI has given his order to the government to give Moghreb Tetouan delegation a private plane for this trip that will take them from Morocco to Kano,” Mogheb Tetouan announced.
The team officials have in turn assured that the King’s gesture will make their mission easier in the return game against the Nigerian champions.
Moghreb Tetouan secured a big win in the first leg when they won 4-0 on March 21 at Stade Saniat Rmel with Mouhcine Iajour scoring a treble.
Already, Moghreb Tetouan officials expressed their concern of the security situation in Nigeria as the Kano-based team had been attacked earlier this month by gunmen in an incident that left five players of the team injured.
