Black Stars skipper and his deputy Dede Ayew have been declared fit for Wedesday's crucial AFCON 2015 decider against the Sparrow Hawks of Togo in Tamale.
The two influential Stars players have been given the greenlight by team doctor, Baba Adam, to enhance Ghana's qualification chances against the stubborn Togolese neighbours, who also need a result in the open group to book a place in Equatorial Guinea in January-February next year.
Ghana's 0-1 loss to the Cranes of Uganda in Kampala last Saturday, coupled with Togo's 4-1 defeat to Guinea in the other group fixture, has thrown Group E wide open, as all four teams -- Ghana (8pts), Uganda (7pts), Guinea (7pts) and Togo (6pts) --- stand an equal chance of qualifying for next year's tournament.
In an interview with Dr Baba after Ghana's 0-1 defeat to Uganda in Kampala last Saturday, he revealed that the Stars skipper had fully recovered from the injury that ruled him out of last Saturday's game.
He disclosed that the Al-Ain striker even resumed training with his club before flying down to join his teammates for the Uganda trip.
According to him, the ace Stars striker trained with the team in Kampala last Friday with the aim of playing the match but was restrained by him for fear of aggravating the injury.
He said he kicked against the idea just to enable him get enough rest and recover fully for Wednesday's clash.
In the case of Dede, Doctor Baba said the thigh injury he sustained against Uganda was not a big deal to bench him against Togo.
The acting Stars skipper had a pain in his right thigh from a rough tackle in the first half but stayed on till the 75th minute when he was substituted by Mubarak Wakaso.
'Dede will be okay. It's not a big deal, he assured.
'He had a pain in the inside of his right thigh. I'm observing him and hope he will be fine before the match,' Baba affirmed.
