It’s an image redemption moment for Accra Hearts of Oak who seek to pick up the pieces and avenge their 2-0 defeat against Kumasi Asante Kotoko when they play in the return leg of the Super 2 Cup at the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday.
Hearts were defeated by their arch rivals in a game their fans highly anticipated a victory only for Ahmed Toure and Dauda Mohammed goals to leave a bitter taste in their mouth.
But after taking consolation from the fact that they were beating at the backyard of their rivals, they can no longer take chances when they host the Porcupine Warriors this time around.
That would not come easy after losing some of thier stars including Owusu Bempah who is currently on national assignment and Nuru Sulley who is reported to have pen a deal with a Libyan club and failing to secure the signature of Ivorian import, Toure.
Kotoko became the ultimate beneficiary of the services of Toure and he would be looking forward to becoming one of the few players to have scored Hearts back-to-back within a week.
But that dream could be a mirage if Coach Herbert Addo could map out a strategy that would hold him in check through the game and ensure he cut supply from the midfield to him.
Further boosting coach Addo’s side would be the confirmation of the return of Leonard Tawiah and Robin Gnagne who received red cards, as well as playmaker, Winful Cobbinah, Emmanuel Hayford and Kwame Kizito who all missed the first leg.
Kotoko, on the other hand, will expect the likes of Toure, Dauda Mohammed, Abeiku Ainooson, Jordan Opoku, Michael Akuffo and Rahim Ayew to maintain their form and replicate the first leg victory.
